Well I have not been on this page in a while so I thought I would post some new and current thoughts!
I had a GREAT, if short, time down at MOTM this year! it is really amazing how fast they got Key West back up and running after the Hurricane. Thanks to Kelly McGuire for letting me sing the "Dog and a Boy" series at the Light House, Charlie Imes for doind a GREAT job at the Hugo Duarte tribute, and sam Densler for letting me back into Willie T's!
There seems to be alot of noise going around right now about what TropRock is all about. I have seen several post on Facebook and there are certainly alot of opinions out there! For me, TropRock, unlike any other genre of music, is defined more by lyrical content than musical style. I have heard (and written) songs that is defined by musical style, would considered Country, Blues, Rock-N-Roll and Reggae. The single common thread through all of them has been the lyrics. Some are about drinking, some are about sailing, and some are about just hanging out on a beach somewhere!
However you decide to determenine what TropRock is to you, Just keep listening!!!!!
Talk to you soon,
Jack
